In order to build capacity in the Ugandan market and foster growth of modern grain handling practices, REWA GRAINS has collaborated in various programmes with organizations working in the private and public sector. REWA GRAINS is in the process of becoming a member of the East African Grain council. As we continue to grow, we look forward to developing additional services and shaping our current offering to better meet our customer needs.
The Eastern Africa Grain Council (EAGC) is a membership organization of the grain stakeholders in Eastern Africa. The stakeholders represent the three main sectors of the grain value chain including traders,farmers and processors.
The aim of EAGC is to support structured grain trade with the Eastern and Southern Africa region. Grains encompass any cereal such as maize, wheat, rice, barley,sorghum, millet and so on.
EAGC is a regional not-for-profit company limited by guarantee,for the grain value chain actors and stakeholders with a mandate spanning 10 Countries of the Eastern Africa region.
To achieve this, EAGC works closely and in partnership with governments through a fast growing public private partnership (PPP) framework in the region. The Council works closely and variously with a number of development partners and research Institutions to deliver its mandate while staying on the cutting edge of technology and innovation.
The Grain Council of Uganda (TUGO):
The Grain Council of Uganda is a private multi-stakeholder organization, registered in 2012 to address the many unique challenges that afflict the Uganda grain sector.
The Vision: A Uganda that feeds the region and is the preferred source of high quality grain in East & Central Africa.
Mission Statement: Championing efforts to make Uganda the Grain basket and leading supplier for East & Central Africa’s grain needs through raising productivity assuring food security and promoting regional trade.
